Winter is the time of year for family and traditions. Business slows down for a much needed break. During this slow period, I get inspired to try new things with my photography. I love looking at other artists' work on Flickr, 500px or Facebook, and finding amazing creations that inspire me. I love the editing part of photography - I love to create different feelings with what I have captured in camera. I recently saw the movie, "Les Miserables," which I loved, and also saw the portraits by Annie Leibovitz. I instantly fell in love with them, especially the portrait of young Cosette. So I grabbed my guinea pigs, aka my children, and tried some artistic portraiture. This is something I would love to offer to my clients! It's very fulfilling to me from an artistic standpoint and it's something a little different from a normal photo session.
Here is my try at young Cosette. Some think it looks like the famous Afghan girl portrait from National Geographic.
